Mobile Tornado launches in Canada
Mobile Tornado has entered the new market of Canada through a reseller agreement with Prairie Mobile Communications, a leading Connected Technology provider in Canada.
The agreement adds Canada to Mobile Tornado’s growing network of reseller partners, who bring the company’s push-to-talk over cellular (PoC) platform to new regional markets around the world, each pairing Mobile Tornado’s technology with a partner’s existing local relationships and market knowledge.

Prairie Mobile Communications was founded over 57 years ago, in Brandon, Manitoba and now has 26 locations from British Columbia out to Ontario. They work with a wide range of industries, including agriculture, mining, education, construction, healthcare, public safety and emergency services.
Through this reseller agreement, Prairie Mobile Communications adds Mobile Tornado’s push-to-talk over cellular (PoC) technology to its existing two-way radio and connected technology portfolio, giving its Canadian customer base access to a cellular-based alternative alongside its traditional communication offering. For customers already using Prairie Mobile Communications for radio and connectivity services, the new agreement means they can explore PoC through a partner they already know, rather than having to build a relationship with an unfamiliar supplier.

Keeping lone workers safer with TornadoSafe
The lone worker feature Jeff Gawlicki references is Mobile Tornado’s TornadoSafe, which is designed to enhance situational awareness and speed up emergency response for remote and frontline teams. It combines automatic man-down detection, which identifies falls, impacts and periods of inactivity, with keep-alive check-ins that periodically confirm a worker’s status, and emergency SOS alerts that share a worker’s precise location the moment they are triggered.
For Prairie Mobile Communications’ customers across agriculture, mining, construction, healthcare and emergency services, these features add a practical safety layer on top of everyday push-to-talk communication, helping supervisors keep track of dispersed teams and respond quickly when something goes wrong.
