DEVICE & INSTANT TALK CLIENT
1. DOES PUSH-TO-TALK OVER CELLULAR WORK WHILE MY PHONE IS LOCKED?
Push-to-talk over cellular (PTToC) will still run on any certified PPToC device by pushing dedicated Talk or an emergency button. Supported devices include rugged phones (for example, CAT, Telo, RugGear and Sonim), vehicle devices and smartphones.
2. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SMARTPHONE AND A RUGGED DEVICE FOR PTToC?
Most of the modern smartphones (iOS and Android) can be used for PTToC calls. This is a convenient and fast way to try and discover the power of Mobile Tornado services. PTToC calls can be initialized by the on-screen button, volume up/ down and camera physical buttons when the application is running, and the phone is unlocked.
However, certified Rugged devices are built especially for PTToC operations. They are integrated with our PoC platform on hardware and firmware level. Wide range of professional-grade accessories available, such as RSM, PTToC buttons, Headsets, and car kits.
Rugged PTT mobile devices equipped with dedicated PTToC and Emergency buttons, puncture-resistant, glove and wet compatible touchscreen, long-lasting battery, 4 times louder speaker with superior voice and durable build quality.
To ensure reliability and performance, they are tested in compliance with Rugged Performance Standards, Military standards, waterproof and Non-Incendive Class ratings to ensure safe operations in an extreme environment.
3. WOULD MOBILE TORNADO PTT APPLICATION CO-EXIST WITH MY REGULAR TASKS WHILE USING A SMARTPHONE?
The app can run in the background mode and can be configured to prioritise GSM or PTToC calls.
4. DOES THE MOBILE TORNADO APP WORK WHEN THE SCREEN IS OFF AND LOCKED?
Yes, any certified rugged PTToC device can be used when locked by pushing dedicated Talk or an Emergency button. This option is available on selected certified smartphones as well (ex. Samsung Xcover, Cyrus CS22, RugGear RG 650/850, Sonim and more).
5. HOW DO I USE THE PHONE WHILE DRIVING?
Mobile Tornado supports various types of accessories. You could use an RSM, A Bluetooth button or even BT headset according to your local legislation.
6. CAN I SEND MESSAGES USING POC TERMINALS?
Yes, you can exchange text and images.
7. CAN I CREATE MY OWN CHANNEL?
Yes, you can create a private group according to your organisation’s policy settings.
8. HOW CAN I INSTALL THE MOBILE TORNADO PTToC APPLICATION ON MY SMARTPHONE?

9. WHAT IF I LOSE MY POC DEVICE?
Your system administrator can immediately deactivate your device remotely and wipe related information to be restored on a replacement device.
DISPATCH CONSOLE & OTHER FEATURES
1. DO I NEED A DIFFERENT CONSOLE FOR CREATING DIGITAL FORMS AND ASSIGNING SHIFTS?
No, once users are with proper resource management credentials, current Dispatch Console is in charge of all organization’s activities
2. CAN I TRACK MY EMPLOYEE’S LOCATION?
Yes, by using our MDC2000 Dispatch console.
3. WHAT CAN BE DONE WHEN MY EMPLOYEE IS IN EMERGENCY?
Rugged devices are equipped with an emergency button, that will alert your dispatch centre when pressed. Dispatchers can establish an ambient listening session, which transmits all surround audio without the need to press PTToC button.
4. IS IT POSSIBLE TO MONITOR THE DEVICE, IT’S BATTERY POWER PERCENTAGE AND THE USER’S CONNECTION SETTINGS?
Yes. With Mobile Tornado’s MDC2000, you can be the device’ administrator and monitor battery power, see network connection, modify audio settings or even or even remote disable the PTToC client of the user, as well as many other administrative features.
5. CAN I COMMUNICATE WITH MY COLLEAGUES USING MY EXISTING LEGACY RADIO INFRASTRUCTURE AS A BACKUP?
Yes, by utilizing hybrid mobile devices, which incorporates VHF/ UHF and PoC modules or using Interoperability Gateway solution (Analogue, Conventional, Trunking, DMR, NXDN, DPMR, PMR, LMR, TETRA, P25).
6. CAN I COMMUNICATE WITH MULTIPLE CHANNELS?
Yes. our InstantTalk App supports Smart Multi-mode to communicate with up to 4 groups while staying on same screen of the app. Our MDC2000 supports multi session monitoring to up 16 groups
7. CAN I OVERRIDE MY EMPLOYEE COMMUNICATION?
Yes. Subscribers with a higher priority can override people with a lower priority according to administrative settings.
