1. How secure is Mobile Tornado PTToC service?

Our PTToC platform is built with security by design principles. This approach to software development seeks to make systems as free of vulnerabilities and impervious to attack as possible through measures such as continuous testing, authentication safeguards and adherence to best programming practice. All PTT calls are encrypted by advanced modern algorithms.

2. What is Mobile Tornado's Workforce Management solution?

Our workforce management solution integrates with our critical communications platform, providing an all-in-one solution that combines business intelligence, AI and powerful instant communications.

The bringing together of our world-class PTToC platform with the very latest in workforce management technology gives organisations everything they need to seamlessly communicate with and manage their team members using just one application and one device, wherever they are in the world.

3. What is the coverage of the Mobile Tornado PTToC?

The coverage is worldwide. It can be used anywhere 2.5G, 3G, 4G, 5G or WiFi.

4. What data package is required to use the service?

200 MB is needed in average per user per month.

5. Can Mobile Tornado push-to-talk over cellular (PTToC) services be used for mission-critical needs?

Yes. Mobile Tornado’s push-to-talk over cellular carrier-grade system availability is 99.999%, voice transmission setup is less than 0.5 seconds and communications are secured with an advanced encryption mechanism. With our push-to-talk over cellular latency there is almost no difference between a private PTToC call or a radio group of 1000 – making our PTToC platform superior to any other solution on the market. A mission-critical network and infrastructure is required to fulfil all mission-critical requirements.

6. Can I communicate with my colleagues using my existing legacy radio infrastructure as a backup?

Yes, you can do this by using hybrid mobile devices, which incorporate VHF/ UHF and PoC modules or by using our Interoperability Gateway solution (Analogue, Conventional, Trunking, DMR, NXDN, DPMR, PMR, LMR, TETRA, P25).

Devices

1. Does push-to-talk over cellular (PttoC) work while my phone is locked?

Push-to-talk over cellular (PTToC) will still run on any certified PPToC device by pushing dedicated Talk or an emergency button. Supported devices include rugged phones, vehicle devices and smartphones.

2. What is the difference between a smartphone and a rugged device for PTToC?

Most smartphones (iOS and Android) can be used for push-to-talk over cellular calls. This is a convenient and fast way to try and discover the power of Mobile Tornado.

PTToC calls can be activated by the on-screen button, volume up/ down and camera button when the application is running, and the phone is unlocked.

However, certified rugged devices are built especially for PTToC operations. They are integrated with our push-to-talk over cellular platform on both a hardware and firmware level. Rugged PTT devices are durable build quality and equipped with dedicated PTToC and emergency buttons, longer-lasting battery and puncture-resistant, glove and wet compatible touchscreen. They also have a four times louder speaker with superior voice quality.

To ensure reliability and performance, rugged devices are tested against Rugged Performance Standards which include waterproof, impact resistant and non-incendive class ratings to ensure safe operations in extreme environments.

3. Would the Mobile Tornado PTToC application coexist with my regular tasks while using a smartphone?

Yes. The app can run in the background mode and can be configured to prioritise GSM or PTToC calls.

4. Does the Mobile Tornado app work when the screen is off and locked?

Yes. Any certified rugged PTToC device can be used when it is locked by pushing the dedicated talk button or emergency button. This option is also available on selected certified smartphones.

5. How do I use the phone while driving?

Mobile Tornado supports various types of accessories. You could use an RSM, a Bluetooth button or a BT headset according to your local legislation.

6. Can I send messages using PTToC terminals?

Yes, you can exchange written messages, images, videos and files at the touch of a button, anywhere in the world.

7. Can I create my own channel?

Yes, you can create a private group according to your organisation’s policy settings.

8. How can I install the Mobile Tornado PTToC application on my smartphone?

Please search for the Instant Talk app in Google Play or Apple store accordingly.

9. What if I lose my PTToC device?

Your system administrator can immediately deactivate your device remotely and wipe related information which can be restored on a replacement device.

Dispatch Console & other features

1. Do I need a different console for creating digital forms and assigning shifts?

No. Our workforce management solution is fully integrated with our critical communications platform so once users have our workforce management solution the dispatch console and dispatch controller is in charge of all the organisation’s activities.

2. Can I track my employee's location?

Yes. Employee location can be tracked using our MDC2000 Dispatch Console.

3. What can be done when my employee is in an emergency?

Rugged devices are equipped with an emergency button that will alert your dispatch centre as soon as it is pressed. The dispatch controller can establish an ambient listening session, which transmits all surround audio without the need to press PTToC button. The dispatch controller can also locate users who are closest to the employee in the emergency situation so that assistance can be sent.

4. Can I communicate with multiple channels?

Yes. Our InstantTalk App supports Smart Multi-mode to communicate with up to 4 groups while staying on same screen of the app. Our MDC2000 Dispatch Console supports multi- session monitoring to up 16 groups.

5. Can I override my employee communication?

Yes. Subscribers with a higher priority can override users with a lower priority according to administrative settings.

6. Is it possible to monitor the device, its battery life and the user's connection settings?

Yes. With Mobile Tornado’s MDC2000 dispatch console, the device administrator can monitor battery power, see the network connection, modify audio settings, remotely disable the PTToC function for individual users, as well as perform many other administrative tasks.
