The customer has a large fleet of trucks that are used on predefined routes, goods delivery, and construction sites work. The group operates over 1,000 vehicles of different types and purposes. This day to day operation challenge requires constant communication and supervision.
Mobile Tornado’s solution replacing the Motorola iDEN radios in all group companies. Push to talk over multiple types of networks provided the group operation centers with national coverage allowing access using Car Kits and Rugged PTT devices back to the network.
During a nationwide emergency, most countries need to mobilize their emergency services which include the police, Emergency Medical Services, Fire Departments and in many cases volunteer organizations that provide support to the public. The biggest problem during these emergency situations is coordination and a reliable communication system.

Traffic Routes Clearance Unit empowered by the national police is in charge for keeping primary transport routes open in cooperation with all other first responders. These major units require a direct line of communication for several other police forces in cases of emergency & multi-casualty events. While communicating with traditional two-way radios, these units experienced both functional and coverage limitations that prevented them from completing their missions.
PTT devices are an indispensable tool for helping dispatchers, commanders and their staff, in order to stay in constant communication. The need to be able to communicate immediately from any geographical area, regardless of the cellular operator was one of the important decision making parameters. Ease of use, strong performance, cybersecurity, feature-rich, and cost-effectiveness are key reasons why the PoC solution has become a natural choice for them, as well as for other modern first- responders.
LOGISTICS & TRANSPORTATION
When dealing with high-risk goods, communication must be reliable, dynamic and real-time for guards, drivers, and dispatchers. The company was using an old LMR system and required a better solution to answer cases such as versatile communication, geo-based calls, and emergency alerts.
Mobile Tornado’s carrier-grade redundant solution has been implemented. The solution was adapted to support the customer’s end devices (Zebra TC56), Remapping of buttons for PTT usage via Zebra’s Barcode scanning app and Full integration with Zebra’s MDM module to ensure PTT installation & usage.
Public transit is an inseparable part of any national infrastructure, and its contribution to personal and national economic, and social growth is priceless. More than 3,000 buses on average are circulating on the trunk line system. To coordinate this system, an outdated PTT system utilising cellular phones was used. There were significant infrastructure challenges and high operational costs which caused the company major problems. The customer realized this was an opportunity to completely rethink its Push-to-Talk (PTT) communication capabilities to deliver the high level of service customers expect.
The 1st project with Mobile Tornado next-generation technology expertise and smart rugged devices paved the way for an easy decision. The customer selected Mobile Tornado IPRS™ with its enhanced system capacity, security, crystal-clear audio, and integrated services. When it came to flexibility, the customer wanted a solution opened for 3rd party Linux devices and Mobile Tornado SDK provided them an ability to extend PTT beyond to custom devices.
Such companies ensure the protection of their premises and surroundings with security guard groups in charge of all detailed protection, with the constant need to communicate between factory personnel and groups regardless of each other’s location. Most of the factory personnel and security guards are posted in hazardous locations, which requires special devices.
PoC service powered by Mobile Tornado ensuring always-on communications, Private and Group calling with detailed priorities. In addition, the customer uses Mobile Tornado’s dispatch consoles to manage and monitor the activities of all security units, including location and event management.
Need for assessment on possible threats on an hourly basis, by security guards. Hundreds of security guards, which in charge of Dock Safety procedures, Train Safety, and Customers safety – boarding the train. While arriving on the field, the guard should inform the operations room on arrival and if there is a possible event to take place, which will have to be recorded, allow the on-site camera to video record and record the audio as well. Upon the event, the guard clicks on the Emergency button which automatically initiates Mobile Tornado’s Dispatcher to allow an ambient listening and record the audio, and for the Dispatcher on duty to activate the Video camera to record the whole event.
All security guards are using Rugged devices – aimed mainly for public safety.
